Early on Brazil is targeting Beasley's near side of the field.


7th minute GOAL!!!!! BRAZIL 1-0 Beasley gives the ball away leading to a set piece from 40 yards out on the near side albeit on a phantom foul call. Melo heads it in on the six yard box on a beautiful ball to the inside. Howard might have been able to come out to the ball. But a nice set piece by Brazil.


Brazil is continuing to target Beasley. He has not been strong on the ball during qualifying.

20th minute GOAL!!!! BRAZIL 2-0 U.S. Beasley blows a chance off a U.S. corner leading to an extremely quick counter by Brazil. Only 1 defender back. ROBINHO NETS IT on Howard. Robinho celebrates by sucking his thumb...

The talent gap is obvious. Brazil got early confidence. With the U.S. giving the ball away in their half and not being able to make anything of their chances in Brazil's half. Brazil doesn't need our help scoring goals.


22th Minute OH THANK GOD! Technical difficulties have blacked out the game.

26th minute The feed is back. I'm not sure that's a good thing.

27th Minute The U.S. midfield continues to boot passes out of bounds or to Brazil. No one on the U.S. looks crisp.


29th Minute The U.S. gave up 21 shots to Italy last game. And it's looking like much of the same here as the discrepancy is in favor of Brazil 9-1 early.

33rd Minute. U.S. has a couple good chances after a corner. Brazil counters leading to a tackle from behind by Onewu. YELLOW. Early yellow could noticibly affect how the physical Onewu plays the rest of the match.

37th Minute Onewu skips a header off his head on the back line allowing a Brazilian attacker to get the ball behind the defense. SHOT! far side saved by Howard.

39th Minute Good run by Spector from the back and Donovan. But a low cross is picked by Brazil. Missed chance.

40th Minute Brazil missed a header from a near side outside cross. The outside attacker had far too much space as Beasley failed to cover.

42nd Minute Brazilian set piece from the corner off a Onewu foul on Robinho. WHOA! The ball misses a couple heads and floats to the back post. Brazil misses the shot above the goal.

45th Minute Another set piece for Brazil. Another chance given to them by the U.S. Brazil has full control of this match.

END of 1st half. Bradley is going to make some moves at half. I expect to see Torres for Beasley and Conor Casey moved into the front maybe after a formation change. I would really like to see Adu who plays with confidence and flair on the ball.

The U.S. is trying to force the possessions with long balls instead of building up possession. Too many free kicks given up by the U.S. in their defending third.
